The Hong Kong-based N & E, founded in 2014, is named after its two founders, Edison and Nelson. Its products include music servers, linear power processors, audio-grade switches, amplifiers and cables. Among them, there are two types of music servers, the high-end one is Bach and the cheaper one is Haydn.
The Hayd music server is powered by an Intel I5 processor as the core and has 8G of DDR4 memory built-in. The power supply is linear and uses a 150W output toroidal transformer and a Bybee Quantum Purifier to provide cleaner power. The power supply is wired with audio-grade UPOCC single-crystal copper conductors, and an external ground terminal is provided.
The chassis is assembled with CNC cut 6061 grade aluminum alloy, and in order to avoid noise and vibration from the fan, the whole machine is fanless, so the chassis design also takes heat dissipation efficiency into consideration.
The Haydn music server can cope with DSD512 upscaling and DoP decoding to play high resolution files without any hindrance. 1T SSD hard drive provides a high capacity base for the server itself, and users can also connect other storage devices such as USB external hard drive or NAS network hard drive. It supports TIDAL, Qobuz, and other Internet streaming services, and is a Roon-ready streaming player.
