Audio-Technica's reimagined Sound Burger portable turntable has captivated audiophiles since its reissue, and now the company is set to release an exclusive collaboration with fashion brand WIND AND SEA. The limited-edition AT-SB727 WS Sound Burger will be available through official online channels from January 31st, priced at ¥39,600 (tax included), with pre-orders running until February 7th.

The AT-SB727 revolutionized portable vinyl playback with its innovative clamshell design that securely holds records during playback. While Audio-Technica has preserved the distinctive aesthetic and vinyl playback capabilities of the original in this reissue, they've thoughtfully integrated modern features such as Bluetooth connectivity and USB charging, successfully attracting a new generation of music enthusiasts.

This collaborative edition pays homage to 1980s audio equipment with its classic silver finish, enhanced by a striking holographic metal texture across both the unit and packaging. The design features a distinctive tri-color stripe between the SOUND BURGER and WIND AND SEA logos, simultaneously evoking the prismatic reflections of disco balls and abstractly representing a coastal sunrise, seamlessly blending retro aesthetics with contemporary street style.

According to Audio-Technica, the design draws inspiration from the original Sound Burger's 1980s origins and the era's musical landscape, particularly the City Pop genre. It celebrates the sophisticated urban lifestyle of Japanese youth during that period, who balanced weeknight city adventures with weekend beach escapes.

The collaboration extends beyond the turntable itself to include a seven-piece clothing collection, featuring a versatile vinyl carrier designed to accommodate both records and the Sound Burger unit. These items will be exclusively available through Audio-Technica and WIND AND SEA's Japanese online stores, with shipping scheduled to begin in early April.
